    Born in Tokyo in 1989, he graduated with a degree in Japanese Studies from Meiji University. During a year off, he traveled around the world and worked for the Doha International Book Fair in 2012. After graduating, he worked for the digital agency Augment 5 Inc. He established MATCHA Inc. in 2013, and was appointed CEO/Managing Director. His hobbies are traveling and visiting hot springs.

    Hiromasa Uematsu

    Born in 1987, in Hiroshima. After studying under the Maritime Self-Defense Force and majoring in literature at Keio University, he worked as an editor at G.B. Publishing Co., Ltd., and joined MATCHA in 2015. In addition to handling Japanese editorial work, he is also in charge of general administration for all language editions. His hobbies are working, mountain climbing and taking care of his pet goldfish.

    Kenta Sugizaki

    After working at a domestic financial institution, he embarked on a trip around the world that lasted for a year and a half. After experiencing a warm reception during his overseas travels, he decided that he would like visitors to Japan to also have a similar experience, and this prompted him to join MATCHA. Is a fan of the Yokohama DeNA Baystars baseball team. His hobbies are camping, mountain climbing, attending festivals, eating ramen, listening to music, and watching movies.

    Shinnosuke Saito

    Born in 1992 in Miyagi Prefecture. Graduate of Meiji University School of Commerce. Studied abroad in New York and became passionate about international exchange. After gaining experience in digital producing at an advertising firm, he joined MATCHA in Fall 2018. Likes places with good music and sake. He splits his time between Tokyo and the Shonan area. Founding member of MATCHA.

    Ramona Taranu

    Born in 1985 in Romania. While studying Nohgaku at the Waseda University Graduate School in the literature department, she coordinated the literary periodical "Bungaku Kingyo", which features serialized drama criticisms and essays. She joined MATCHA straight from graduate school. Currently she is responsible for the English edition of MATCHA, with an emphasis on editing and writing original articles.

    Mayuko Shimogishi

    Previously worked as an editor for Japanese web media company, focusing on women's fashion and health. Lived in Australia and joined Matcha after returning to Japan. Responsible for editing, sponsored content promotion and creative direction. Hobby is watching foreign TV dramas.

    Naoki Mizobata

    Sagittarius, blood type O. Graduated from the Russian Language and Literature Department of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. Took part in public relations activities for company CSR (corporate social responsibility), and was involved with media work in the field of international cooperation. After connecting with people engaged in the revitalization of local communities, he became interested in the attractive features of Japan’s different regions, and subsequently joined MATCHA.     Riko Koyonagi

    An Edo-ko who grew up in Tokyo and loves festivals, she aspires to share the charms of Japan with the world and as such joined MATCHA in August 2017 as part of the Inbound Strategy Department. The focus of her current work is on information visualization.

    Miho Wang

    Born in 1989, she graduated with a degree in film studies and began writing her own blogs on Japan as a student here. She has worked as an editor for translations of Japanese fashion magazines, copywriter for advertising agencies, author for tourism agencies and private travel companies, and has published four books on Japan in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China. Currently is the head editor for MATCHA's Taiwanese edition.

    Libra, with AB blood type. Thanks to her travels to over 30 countries, is fascinated by the heartwarming encounters she has enjoyed all around the world. After many twists and turns, came to work at MATCHA in 2017. Faces her work everyday with the hope that her beloved Japan will come to be loved by people from all over the world. Her favorite things are traveling, camels, and seeing starry skies over the desert.

    Asako Fukushima

    Worked as a graphic designer in the design of leaflets/promotional materials, then in the operation and analysis of hotels and ryokan sites as a web designer. After becoming interested in regional tourism, she joined MATCHA. Currently, she works hard everyday to change the future through web analysis. Is a WACA certified web analyst.

    Kenji Asami

    A graduate of Musashino Art University’s Department of Design Informatics. Joined MATCHA in 2018, after spending time at a production company. As a web designer, he handles the company’s website design and implementation, as well as conducting site improvements. His hobbies are fishing, mountain climbing, cooking, and vaudeville theater. He especially likes peaceful, rural landscapes.

    Born in the winter of 1985. After working in design in the game and video industry, he moved to the web industry. After leaving his former company, he joined MATCHA in April 2016 as an engineer. Although formerly a designer, he now works mainly in systems. His hobbies are reading and painting.

    Born in 1991, he is an engineer from Bangladesh. His interest in Japanese robotics brought him to Japan. He loves Japanese tea and miso soup, and is proficient in Java. His hobbies are watching movies, and playing soccer and cricket.

    During university, he studied how to help international travelers in Japan, presenting at conferences in and outside of Japan. After graduating, he joined a IT venture company and learned web engineering. He joined MATCHA wanting to put his university research to use. His favorite food is yaki manju.
